I have 25 years of experience translating in the language pairs of Dutch>English, German>English, French>English, English>Dutch, Flemish>English, English>Flemish.
I was born and raised in Belgium until I graduated college there with a Bachelor's Degree in translation from Mercator College.
I moved to the US in 1999 to start an internship at a translation agency. I worked as a project manager/translator for 5 years. Then I made the jump to freelance work and have been a freelancer ever since.
My areas of specialization as of late are: medical - legal - business - education.
I have experience working with the CAT-tools: SDL Studio - memoQ - Memsource - SmartCat - XTM.
I'm bilingual. My mother is American and my father is Belgian.
I can also translate into/from UK-English just as well as US-English.
I'm reliable, can work under stress, have plenty of experience translating large volumes.
On a personal note: I'm an avid WWII-fan and love reading books about both sides of the war. It's quite fascinating to also read about the Third Reich.
I was a long jumper from age 10 to 23. Currently, I try to go kayaking, jogging, cycling in my spare time, which is awesome where I live in the mountains of Pennsylvania.
