With academic and professional backgrounds in both languages and the law, in both the United States and Europe, I am able to offer high quality translations that reflect an awareness of the need for the careful use of legal terminology. I have a bachelor's degree in linguistics from Harvard University, a juris doctorate (law) degree from Northwestern University, and a master's degree in International and European Law from the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands. I am licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and have litigated cases in federal and state courts throughout the United States. I have drafted contracts, advised clients about their terms, and litigated claims of their breach. I am a regular contributor to professional discourse concerning the interaction of law and language, and have published in peer-reviewed journals and given lectures to academic audiences in the United States, Europe and Australia.
