They didn't expressly told me this was the correct translation. My husband suggested this translation after going through the entire document with me, I used it throughout the text because it made sense and at the review they did not correct it. They did have me change a couple of other terms, but not this one.

Yes, you would expect a different expression in German, but this is Austrian and experience taught me they use quite different expressions...

Really? Is that what the authors of the text are telling you? Normally you would expect quite a different expression in German. Only proves that context is everything I guess ...

Correct translation I finally found the correct translation: "interface pins".

Well, it really depends on how ... ... these "Punkte" look like. For the sake of not being to specific, I would call this an "interface site/unit" or maybe even "interfacing unit", though in most cases these will just be switchboard cabinets and similar enclosures.
