Czech term

Czech to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) contract abbreviation
Please can you tell me what you reckon about this
Rozsah činností je specifikován v Sazebníku pro navrhování nabídkových cen projektových prací a inženýrských činností (dále jen UNIKA), ***IČ*** - výkonová fáze č. 2
My first instinct is that it must mean identifikacni cislo but it does not seem to really fit... Could it be identifikace cinnosti or something? Many thanks for any bright ideas

Discussion

Pavel Blann Feb 12, 2007:
On the other hand, Charles had the right to choose an answer that was the most helpful one. Marek answered in only 4 hours. It took you 34 hours, and instead of agreeing with Marek's idea (& adding "-ing", e.g.) you presented it as a brand new "5" answer.
Sarka Rubkova Feb 10, 2007:
It is not question if it sounds better but what is correct And engineering activity is correct answer to your query. That's all. Your glossary may mislead translators when searing correct term.

engineer activity (see below)

IČ is for sure here abbreviation of the preceding, i.e.: "projektové práce a inženýrské činnosti" (inženýrské činnosti = IČ), so I agree with Veronika it is abbrev. of the mentioned.

thanks Marek -you must be right I think... what a dummy I am

Ref.no.

From the context I guess it could be the reference number of the price scale as mentioned
Note from asker:
thanks Veroniko - I think Marek was probably right in the end because they mentioned inženýrské činnosti before

Engineering is a special type of activity which is usually carried out by a designer, however nowadays there are specialised persons doing it. It mostly consists of negotiations with authorities, utilities administrators, neighbours etc. One of the results of their work is building permit.

It is also described in the Code of remunerations and Services of the Czech Chamber architects (Česká komora architektů), which has its English version on their www pages
Note from asker:
thanks pí. Srubkova. went for Marek's answer in the end because it got there quicker although I agree that perhaps engineering sounds better
