Exactly, a Modewort is often part of a specific jargon (jouth jargon, marketing jargon).

Gudrun, are either of these words a buzz word? I don't think "krass" is, not so sure about "Wutbürger". There is an aspect of jargon involved, I find

Buzz itself is not new either. It was used in the expression buzz-bomb during the second world war, ( See Shorter Oxford dictionary), probably to represent the sound the bomb made when it fell from the sky. While Modewort and Schlagwort are not onomeatopeoeic like 'buzz' and perhaps more sober expressions rather than ear-candy, they can still conjure up excitement, esp. Mode (e.g.: something new, fresh, exciting, youthful, everyone wants it etc.). Whether they can do it as well as buzz, I don't know and do not want to decide right now.

it doesn't really buzz It's a pity that the "buzz" aspect (excitement, liveliness etc, see the Urban Dictionary) does not come over as well with "Mode" or "Schlag", both of which have been around for ages.

Im ersten Beispiel vielleicht Schlagwort. Definition nach Wahrig "(T)reffendes, viel gebrauchtes Wort zum Kennzeichnen einer Zeiterscheinung" Zu den anderen Beispielen passt meiner Meinung nach eher Modewort. Wahrig: "(W)ährend gewisser Zeit häufig gebrauchtes Wort, meist neu gebildet od. in neuer Bedeutung verwendet."

im Grunde könnte beides passen, je nach Zusammenhang wie es verwendet wird
