Chris, this says it to me... 'ansvarade jag för personalfrågor inom koncernen'. This person managed/was responsible of group-wide HR issues. Unless, of course, this is the assistant to the HR manager who is (slightly) overstating their responsibilities.

@Deane As I see it, corporate management is the EVPs, the fat cats with cigars, while corporate staffs/services/whatever is a central department providing services for the group as a whole. I see nothing in the sentence to suggest this person was part of the former.

Group staff unit certainly doesn't say it... by a long shot. And I disagree w Chris here. What is the difference between corp management and corp. services? None, but mgmt sounds better.

He or she may have been EVP level but "koncernstab" itself is a unit/department. I don't know if we have a direct equivalent in the UK. I think we'd probably break it down into sections: finance, HR etc. Maybe something like "corporate services"?

This is the group's central administrative unit, not group/corporate management.
I think Americans say corporate staff(s) and a lot of Scandi firms use it but it offends my British ears.
