(is) a sure thing/beats the goalie

The term refers to one of those winning shots in ice-hockey that fly into the corner of the posts (from what I understand) - I am sure there is one for every sport: hole in one, bowl a hat trick, slam dunk, hit a home run - maybe somebody knows of one in English that refers to hockey, I'm afraid I don't.

Perhaps you could use the work "score" in some way, or "target" - "hits the target". Anyway - hope that gets the ball rolling ;o)

(The site below used "beats the goalie" - but it is not quite the same kind of one-shot winner by the sounds of it!)
