Hello,

One of my client asks me to connect to TM server using anywhere procedure. But when I go in the Workbench, the option "Connection" is greyed and I can't access the server.

I also tried to access the server directly by ftp link, but failed.

Has anyone already been faced to this problem?

... but does Trados Freelance edition supports TM server connection (if you use Freelance edition this may be the problem)?

To add a server you can click on "Settings" -> "TM Servers ..." -> "Add...".

What is grayed out on your software?


The access through ftp will not work.

in File menu, I can't access the Connection option. and in "Settings" menu, no "TM servers" option appears.. Maybe it's not an option supported by Trados 6.0...
Also, I noticed on SDL Trados web site that Windows XP SP2 can be a problem with this but I can't change any settings.

Hello,

not really sure if Trados 6 can access to TM Server 7, but you should try to add a TM Server connection first.

In Trados 7.5. there is a TM-Server menue in the Settings menue.

A hint: If possible you should use the TCP protocoll for the connection. It seems to be approx. 30 % faster then the http protocoll. The administrator of the TM server has to enable the tcp protocoll in his installation first.

Hi,

you'll need the access data from your client.
There are no "public" TM servers - as far as I know.
