German term

Rückfetter

German to English Science Cosmetics, Beauty
Another tricky item from a long list of cosmetics terms. Again, no more context I'm afraid, but I'm pretty sure it's an ingredient or property of skin cream.

TIA for your help, David.

moisturizer

In this bilingual site, they solve this by using moisturizer for rückfetten und Feuchtigkeit spenden.

winter

- For normal skin, skin care products should moisturize.

- Dry skin, however, is dependant on the moisturizing components
of skin care products to prevent dry skin eczema, especially with
dry air from heaters in the winter.

emollient

usually a grease or an oil that softens the skin and protects it from dryness. The emollients in moisturizers come from animal, vegetable, or mineral sources. Common ones are allantoin, cocoa butter, lanolin, squalene, castor oil, plant or vegetable oil, mineral oil, and fatty alcohols.

agree Melanie Nassar : actually, Wikipedia says"The terms 'moisturiser' (to add moisture) and 'emollient' (to soften) are interchangeable" but this might be a good alternative if moisturizer has already been used.
