Does the error counter at the bottom show any errors at all?
Have you run a QA?
I've only ever run into unexportable issues with MemoQ when it refused to confirm segments with the numbered red MemoQ tags, but this only happened with PPT files, and even then it hasn't happened with newer versions. ▲ Collapse

QA done

Yes, I did run a QA and there are no tags missing or extra tags added. I confirmed/ignored/corrected every QA message and tried to reset my internet connection/used a mobile internet connection to perform the cleaning up stage. Still getting the same result and same error message.
I contacted memoq support and I will let you know what happens next.
Thanks. I will try to reimport the files and retranslate them in the morning.

Rename the original document and import it to memoQ. Select all segments, copy source to target and press Ctrl+Shift. Try to export. If error will appear again, then the problem in the original document.
If error will disappear, then you did something wrong with tags

CodeZapper

There is a useful utility CodeZapper that removes redundant items from Word files thus reducing the number of tags. Try it on your document before importing to memoQ.
Also, read Marc Prior's how-to about translating DOCX files in OmegaT, it contains many good tips that can be useful for MemoQ as well:

Sometimes CodeZapper doesn't help. Then you can save DOC as DOCX or DOCX as DOC. It helps from time to time.
If we are talking about MS Word document, of course

THank you for posting this! You just saved me! I translated an 8000 word .docx file and when it came time to export it kept giving me an error and it refused to export. I took you suggestion, changed it to .doc, reloaded it, pre-translated the whole thing then hit export and it worked!!! Thank you!!
