Deutsch > Englisch: Lüscher’s JetPrint 3530 UV on target for success. General field: Marketing Detailed field: Druck und Satz, Verlagswesen
Ausgangstext - Deutsch PRESSEMITTEILUNG

Lüscher’s JetPrint 3530 UV on target for success.
After the successful introduction of the JetScreen 3530 UV to the market at the beginning of this year and following the successful FESPA 05 in Munich, Lüscher AG has further substantial successes with its largest flatbed printer worldwide to report. Within a short period, 5 units were installed with renowned customers in France, Greece, Germany and Switzerland. Moreover sales were concluded in Japan, in the USA and in the rest of Europe. Following the SGIA in New Orleans the first JetPrint for the USA will be installed at Big3D in Fresno, California . Big3D is one of the largest U.S. producers and full service providers of large-format printed lenticular graphics and exports printed murals to various countries around the world. With the JetPrint, most outdoor products in the future will be printed directly onto the lenticular lens. The other users are from the most varied fields of activity such as large silk-screen printers, font studios, display producers and trade-fair builders.
According to the customers, the following advantages tipped the balance in favor of the JetPrint: The maximum print surface of 3500 x 3050 mm and the fact that the JetPrint offers by far the greatest flexibility in terms of print substrates. Almost all rigid and flexible print substrates up to a material strength of 80mm and a weight of 250kg per m2 can be printed on without difficulty. Thanks to the fixed print table with the individually adjustable vacuum zones, handling the print substrates is also extremely easy. By default, the print table has a register system for very precise positioning of the print substrates and precise registering of double-sided prints.
Because the print substrates are not moved at any time during the print process and are held on the vacuum table, the JetPrint can also be used to produce in several cut-outs. This fact and the enormously high print speed of up to 200m2/h depending on print substrates lead to a large production output and a high economic efficiency for the unit.
The patented print head with 16 print head arrays (64 print heads with a total of 8,162 nozzles) and with the adjustable pinning system (pre-hardening of the UV ink) also allows the user to perform a flexible color configuration and an ink-curing process adjusted to each print substrate. The JetPrint can be configured as a 4, 6, or 8-color system as well as a 4, 6, or 7-color system with white printing. In addition, the JetPrint is equipped with a fully automatic print head maintenance station, allowing for reliable high print quality and very easy operation.

Backround:
I grew up in Chicago, Illinois and later lived in Palo Alto, California in the early 1970s.
In 1976, I moved to Fredericton, New Brunswick, then to Kingston, Ontario in 1980 and in 1987 studied at the University of Ottawa, graduating in 1991 with a B.A. General in Business Administration, German language and German history (pre-1914).
After graduation, I moved to Oxford, England to train as an English Language Teacher and teach at the Oxford Academy. On completion of my RSA Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language to Adults (TESOL) in 1993, I moved to the Cologne/Bonn area of Germany to teach English, which included teaching the Members of the German Parliament in the English language programme run by the Bundestag in Bonn. I regularly returned to Oxford during the summer months to teach English to the many interesting foreign students studying there.
In 1998, I moved into translation when I worked as a freelance translator on projects ranging from book translation (300-page World Atlas, children's books) and language learning multimedia CD-Roms through to advertising copy for "eppi" trade magazine for the promotional products industry. By 2000 I was a full-time translator and journalist working for Handelsblatt as an Online Editor in the financial sector. In 2003, I was translating business plans for start-up companies which were spun off by the Fraunhofer Society such as Com.meD, Smartphone Inc.
In 2005 I began working full-time at a technical translation agency in Cologne, all the while gaining further technical translation competence in the German language. It was during this period that I was given the role as English Editor for Employee Communications in the Corporate Communications Department at the Bayer AG headquarters in Leverkusen, Germany for five months.
In 2006 at Taschen Verlag, I copy-edited the books Graphic Design Now!, Illustration Now!, Brand Identity Now!, Advertising Now!, Package Design Now! Logo Design Now! and wrote material about M.C. Echer for publication in an art book. As well, at P&P Verlag, I worked as a freelance journalist/features writer with my own "Knowledge Section" in Rhine Magazine, an English-language expat magazine for the Rhineland.
In 2007, after 14 years in the Cologne/Bonn area of Germany, I moved with my wife and two children to Guildford, England to work for STAR UK Limited, and gained further professional technical translation experience over a period of 6.5 years.
In 2014, I formed DOETS Translation Services and embarked on a successful freelance career in technical transation.
