My background is in Linguistics, which gave me a great deal of experience reasoning carefully about details of language usage. In this field I worked on language processing software, which prepared me well to deal with the many technological concerns that can arise in translation (e.g. file formats, character sets, terminology extraction). I have also worked as a project manager in a translation agency and am thus very familiar with this industry and its software tools, customer service expectations, and professional standards.
