Born and raised in Mannheim. Johannes Kepler Secondary School; Hacettepe
University, German Studies; Boğaziçi University, Masters in Interpreting. Has
worked as a translator since 1991 and as an interpreter since 2002. Accredited
interpreter for all EU bodies (SCIC) and the Council of Europe. Member of the
Turkish Association of Interpreters.
Being a migrant, I have roots in
both the German and Turkish cultures. Therefore language has been fascinating
me since childhood. The awareness that there are more ways than one to convey a
matter, led me to studying Germanistics and translation. Finding the right
wording is a matter of skill and I have sharpened mine with literary
translation in depth and with simultaneous interpretation in flexibility.
My job is at the same time my hobby: Nothing gives me more pleasure and more flexibility in life, than working as a translator. I can say from experience that my customers feel this commitment too.
