I was born in 1961, my native
language is Slovenian.

I have finished Faculty of Electrical
Engineering, University of Ljubljana on July 11^th 1986.

My formal education: Univ. Dipl. Eng. of
Electronics.

I worked in research & development
departments for 12 years. 5 years I was teaching on Electrotechnical school in
Kranj. Last 18 years I am working on my own as a freelance translator. In the
previous years I was translating for my companies in the field of electronics,
power electronics, traffic display systems and household appliances.

I was studying English language for 8 years and
I use it (reading technical literature and documentation; conversation with
partners; translating: technical literature, documentation, books on personal
growth and development, articles on marketing) for over 35 years.

I was studying German language for 5 years and
I use it for over 30 years.

AREAS OF SPECIALIZATION

My experiences with Translation-Memory-Tools:
I'm using Trados Studio 2017 Freelance
as well as Logoport (Internet based TM
tool); MemoQ, Mneme Suite and SDLX.

Other translation tools: dictionaries, glossaries:
offline and online; usage of data banks and reference material (home, library,
Internet), online forums (Slovene and International), corpus searching
systems,...

Quality Control:

All my translations are:

¨       checked (detailed language check,
auto-spelling, paragraph check, reference check, proper name and numeral
check),

¨       revised, and

¨       corrected…

prior to dispatch, by myself and my wife. All the procedures of quality control
are carried out on hard copy of the document.

I am aware of the critical nature of my work and
I know that the first responsibility is always to the customer’s requirements.

I am checking my email regularly - generally
every hour (8.00 AM ÷ 6.00 PM CET) and I respond as fast as I can.

My rates and capacity (around 2000 words)
depend on text volume, language combination and difficulty.
