For me, the most important meal of the day is breakfast! I never start working without a good breakfast, if I’m very busy I might replace other meals by a snack during the day but breakfast is sacred! | | | Eden Cope Vereinigte Staaten Local time: 03:24 Schwedisch > Englisch + ... Breakfast as well | Oct 21, 2017 |
I believe all meals are important, but I almost always take time to eat breakfast. When I work, I tend to hyperfocus, and I don't like to interrupt myself with food when I am in "translation mode" unless I am quite hungry. So before working, I make sure to eat a big breakfast. | | | Tina Vonhof (X) Kanada Local time: 03:24 Niederländisch > Englisch + ...
I agree with Teresa. Doctors, nutrition experts, etc. give this advice to anyone, not just translators: a good breakfast carries you through the day, it is fuel for your brain. It is well known that children who come to school without having had breakfast can't concentrate and perform poorly, so why would it be any different for translators?

In this poll, like so many others, I miss the option 'You can't generalise'. We are all different.
When I am trying to lose weight, I skip breakfast and take a slightly early lunch two or three times a week. That is the meal I miss least, but cutting it out altogether for several days in a row proves to be a bad idea.

for me.
Start work every day at 7am and after 1 hour of fitness training at 9am, I have to eat lunch at 12 otherwise I am no use for the rest of the day. And as for the breakfast, you are not supposed to eat before you do sport ... | | | Philip Lees Griechenland Local time: 12:24 Griechisch > Englisch
I find it very discouraging that more than 40% of the responders to this poll, plus the ProZ staff who set the question, don't understand the meaning of the word "most".
Breakfast, since you asked.
I get up quite early and have a longish run, followed by some general fitness exercises. By 8 o'clock I am starving. As a consequence, this is my most satisfying meal of the day. Any other meal, planned or improvised, is never as good.

In my case, dinner is the only meal I take regularly. I never have breakfast. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Poll: The most important meal in a freelancer's day is...
