Just to warn anyone who may have been contacted via their Proz profile for an attractive looking job translating/proofreading books on art from an outfit based in Spain calling itself "documenta artsDiffusion, s.l."
My eyebrow was first raised by the email from "Elisabetta Domenech" claiming that despite all this:

My eyebrow was first raised by the email from "Elisabetta Domenech" claiming that despite all this:

"Somos editores independientes y pequeños, internacionales y
USA, Reino Unido, Francia, Suiza, Italia, Alemania, Canadá,
Holanda, Potugal-Brasil, Finlandia, Bélgica…"

...they don't have a website (!) and I wouldn't find anything online about them (!)

So naturally I googled her and the sole mention of her name on the internet is here: raulrispa.blogspot.de/2011/04/en-este-infame-lugar.html
(tl:dr = not a positive mention)

Having initially quoted for the job I then said I'd need payment upfront... and got the most bizarre, baroque 1,000-word diatribe back from one 'Paco Márquez' lambasting me for daring to question them. (ask if you want to read it, it's quite something!)
QED.

===========

Just to add an update (May 5, 16.23): I warned them I would put a probable scam alert on Proz and received this fabulous reply a few minutes later:

PM"
