Detecting Changes in Figure/Table Numbering?

I have been using Trados Studio 2014 Starter for a few months now and have a QA related question. Sometimes I will have a source segment that says something like "Figure 1.5.1 xxx" and there will be a high match in the TM that is "Figure 1.5 xxx". If I am not paying close attention and use the TM match the figure numbering will be incorrect. Is there a way to have Trados scan for instances like this and point out that the numbers are inconsistent between the source and translation? Running stand... See more

Create a custom rule Dec 22, 2014

Hi,

Out of the box Studio QA will check that 1.5 is correctly changed to 1,5 for example (will be dependent on your language pairs this is just an explanation). But clearly for Fig. 1.5 you don't want this to be localized in this way.

So you would create a custom rule to specifically look for Fig. xxx and then check there is a matching number in the target.

You create these rules with regular expressions in the QA settings... most likely under Project Sett
