@Swaiyam, "meticulous" is a quite a suitable alternative, not only that: Just compare usage of thorough, careful, meticulous at www.scholar.google.com (--> "meticulous hemostasis" surgery) and the other terms, meticulous is No. 1, 2nd is careful :-))

Aber "careful" - sorgfältig ist auch eine vernünftige Alternative IMO.
