zuführender Dünndarmschenkel
German to English
Medical
Medical (general)
Abdominal Surgery
Can anyone help with this?
Context:
Nekrose des zuführenden Dünndarmschenkels bei z.N. Anlage eines protektiven doppelläufigen Ileostomas.
Could this be a limb in this context (perhaps alimentary/distal/proximal)?
Many thanks in advance!

afferent limb to the small intestines
I did not have too much time to research this, but afferent (zuführend)limb should be right at least according to Langenscheid's e-Dictionaries.

proximal loop of the ileum
Necrosis of the proximal loop of the ileum after creation of a protective loop ileostoma.
Actually, I was at a loss for the accurate phrasing, thus the link. What it is - they put an ileostoma, meant to be temporary, because they feared trouble between the artificial anus (ileostoma) and the natural anus. Now that the proximal loop has died off, the patient should be in real trouble - peritonitis highly likely, death too.
I put small intestines because the text didn't specify if
