I don't know about the series, there really is such a thing as Kaskaden in the colon. Please see link above.
SJLD Sep 10, 2010:
Thanks for the thumbs up Gisela!
Jeff Whittaker (asker) Sep 10, 2010:
Gisela: Thanks for the confirmation.

SJLD: Please post as an answer so I can award you points.
Gisela Greenlee Sep 10, 2010:
You're so right Right on both counts, SJLD. After some more googling, I found that "Kaskaden" is used for a series of ultrasounds, not sure what the proper English medical term would be, but "colon series" should certainly suffice. Thanks for providing a much better option for the "Kokarden", that one has always stumped me.
Jeff Whittaker (asker) Sep 10, 2010:
RE: "colon series". That was my original guess as well.
SJLD Sep 10, 2010:
I'm wondering whether it doesn't mean something like "colon series"? Just a feeling - nothing to substantiate it.
SJLD Sep 10, 2010:
Kokarden (should it be that) Almost certainly NOT to be translated by cockade or rosette - see target sign, doughnut sign (both signs of intussusception), halo sign, etc. depending on the condition.

metastatic cascade in colorectal cancer

I think they may be referring to metastases in colon cancer, detected byultrasound ( liver etc). Cascade may just be a fancy name for scheme or progression.

Colonkokarden?

I wonder if this is an error for "Kokarden", cockade in English?

cockade or rosette formation in the colon

I think "Colonkaskaden" might be a typo. Maybe it should have been Colonkokarden

I am not sure about the correct translation though. I don't think cockade or rosette googles that well on English websites....
