Raise your rates so you only have to translate a few hours a day and can spend time honing your skills (writing a blog is a great way to hone your writing and a bunch of other skills, too). | | | Yes, but not only about translation | Feb 10, 2011 |
I have an old, old, Livejournal, which I still update with book reviews, translation musings, quick translations from books I am currently reading and, oh yes, giant animated robots.

I started my blog in the hope that one day I may master the art of the short sentence. Ample evidence that I have not yet done so can be found at http://elusive-jeans.blogspot.com. Sometimes, I like the freedom involved in not having to refer to a source text before writing something! | | | Jeff Whittaker United States Local time: 03:34 Spanish to English + ...
I have a blog, but it is about learning foreign languages and not translation. It is a good break from translation and a convenient way for me to keep track of interesting links: www.polyglotproducts.blogspot.com
but not about translation. It's more like social commentary...whatever interests me at the time. I have to admit, i don't update it enough! | | | No, but there are some excellent blogs out there | Feb 10, 2011 |
...and also some not so excellent ones. Depending on your personal interests, obviously some blogs will seem to be a waste of time and others an excellent place to stop by from time to time for inspiration, widening your knowledge or a good laugh. John Cutler wrote: That being said, I have flirted with the idea of writing a blog on the subject of balcony/terrace gardening. It's one of my main hobbies and I know lots of other city dwellers who share it. I could spend hours writing about the tomatoes and cucumbers I grew last year and the ones I'm already day dreaming about for this coming spring and summer. Then, of course, there are the shubunkin goldfish I keep and the solar powered fountain I'll be setting up when the weather's warmer, as well as the onions and lettuce I'm going to plant this weekend... I have to stop or this could turn into my very first blog post! Please consider making that blog, John. I would definitely subscribe to it
