I'm currently doing a job in Across that was going pretty smoothly until I came across some segments that are sort of "greyed out" (well, they have a grey background instead of a white background). Does anyone know what causes this kind of problem and whether there is any sort of fix or workaround for it? ▲ Collapse

THEMENSTARTER
Think I've figured it out ...
Aug 27, 2012
I think I might have figured it out now, actually. It appears the segments in question are locked. This is something project managers can do before assigning a task. As I'm still quite new to Across, I did not know this. So I guess the client just doesn't want those segments translated, but I'll check that with them. I think only they can unlock them again.

That's right, the greyed-out segments are locked. It's something a project manager can do with a document settings template when he creates a project for you.
It's good to check this with the PM, but most likely everything is working as intended
