Hi everyone,
We are a translation firm who use Across with one of our clients. We have the 'subcontractor' version or 'default supervisor' version as Across calls it. We receive tasks from the Master Server (our client) and send them from and to our translators who have the freelance version.
The version of Across is V 5.00.0 SP1_F_03_en.
We are having some problems with files that are updated by our client (the master server) while our translator is still working in them.
Whenever our client assigns an updated file to us (before we have even downloaded the updated version), Across automatically saves the translator's draft version of the translation. This means that when we assign the updated file to the translator, their draft translation has saved into the update as being final, is now locked and they are unable to edit it.
This isn't a problem for files we have already delivered to our client, since the updated file will contain the final translation which we delivered to the client. It does, however, cause problems when it is a file we have not yet delivered as the translator cannot then make any changes to their translation in Across and we end up having to send the word file to our client, showing any changes that the translator wanted to make to their final version. This results in the client having to input the changes at their end in Across.
I should mention that we use the CrossGrid retrieve wizard to retrieve tasks.
I was wondering if anyone has any ideas as to why this might be happening?
