سيعقد المؤتمر العالمي الثامن عشر له في الفترة الممتدة ما بين 4-7 أوت 2008 في مدينة شنغهاي بجمهورية الصّين الشّعبية.علما بأنّ هذا المؤتمر يعقد كل ثلاث سنوات منذ سنة 1953، يعتبر واحدا من بين التجمّعات الدّولية المؤثرة في المجتمع العالمي للتّرجمة، فهو يظم كلا من المترجمين، المترجمين الفوريين، اللغويين، المهتمين بالمصطلحات، المربين، و الصناعيين الكبار من أنحاء المعمورة قاطبة.فأين نحن من هذا الحدث الكبير ... وما يسمى بشركات التّرجمة العربية الفاعلة في السّوق التجارية الغائبة في مثل هذه التجمعات ؟
