I don't know what your main criterion is, but mine was height adjustability when I was looking to buy a monitor in Nov 2022.
A monitor mount (wall- or desk-mounted arm) will give you far better ergonomics than anything built-in. I will vouch for Ergotron - very sturdy, top quality products. | | | Samuel Murray Niederlande Local time: 14:36 Mitglied (2006) Englisch > Afrikaans + ...

Could you elaborate further on the concept of dot pitch? I would like to know what that is, and whether that number should be low or high.
Dot pitch is the distance between pixels on the screen. The smaller the distance, the smaller things will appear on screen. However, to some people, the smaller the distance, the clearer things seem.
But... let's not get hung up on numbers (-: There is no ideal number. It depends on what you're used to, and on how well your eyes are.
You mentioned that you were looking at e.g. a ProArt monitor. Well, ProArt is for... art. Here's a nice ProArt monitor:
https://www.asus.com/displays-desktops/monitors/proart/proart-display-pa279cv/
It's a 27" UHD monitor. It has roughly the same dot pitch as your laptop.
The thing is: people who work with art programs have the ability to zoom in and out until the image in front of the is the right size for them. CAT tools have TERRIBLE zooming capabilities. You're basically stuck with the default zoom. So, if you're an art professional, and your eyesight is failing, you simply zoom in. If you're a translator, then... you squint.

Pretty wide but not too wide, curved, good "dimming for work" and screen splitting options, enough for multimedia. Probably not a gaming monitor, though. My favourite layuot is 2/3 to 1/3. The 2/3 is "your" 24 inches, the rest can be used for films, music, stock charts or anything you like.

Thank you to everyone who replied in this thread.
As I said, I ended up getting the ASUS ProArt Display PA247CV, and I can say I am quite satisfied with it.
I have used it both for long work sessions and to watch movies, enjoying the view experience.
Plus, it's height adjustable, which as said by other users is a key feature. | | | Vom Thema belegte Seiten: < [1 2] | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Monitor recommendations Trados Studio 2022 Freelance |
