Hi all,

I am considering taking the DPSI this year but might be moving to Australia within the next two years.

My question is: is the DPSI recognised in Australia or will I have to take another examination/diploma there?
I have done some research and it seems that the NAATI can provide accreditation from overseas qualifications but is it the way to go?

I understand that being accredited by NAATI is essential.
Do you know what is the most recognised diploma in interpreting in Australia?
My idea was to take the DPSI here in the UK and get accreditation from NAATI when I move there with this diploma.
Would you think that I would be better off taking a diploma in Australia instead?

If having a DPSI is going to help getting work in the UK for the time being, I would recommend you to get it and then either to get an assessment (equivalence) for it by the NAATI when you move in, or simply take the NAATI accreditation test also when you move in. ( which is what I did. I found it cheaper to take the test than getting my diploma assessed- but then it would be up to you / It will be the same accreditation- depend... See more

Actually, NAATI is the only recognized accreditation body in Australia and all diplomas have to go through it, so I wouldn't know which diploma is the best really, mine ( both the masters in translation and the interpretation were acquired overseas)!
