Do these exist? I have never received them. Communication is difficult without them!
When an answerer posts a note to asker, the asker gets a notification in the mail. Why should this be any different?
TIA

Yes, you're right. The answerer is never notified when the asker posts a "note to answerer". The proz.com staff and our colleagues may not yet be aware of this issue, so thank you for bringing it up!

Please fix this

I really love notes to answerer. They let the asker call the attention of a particular answerer without disturbing all the others who are tracking the question. But that only works if the notification gets sent! In fact, I am certain I've missed a number of important notes over time. I "received" them, but was never alerted to the fact. That's a shame. And I'm not alone, apparently.

I have several outstanding improvement/bug requests for Proz staff, but this is probably the most important of all. Thank you for listening, in advance.
This problem has been raised a couple of times (e.g. http://www.proz.com/post/264647 ) and we've recently discussed it on the Polish forum, too.
I also think this is a very useful feature and would love to see it work.
I don't know if any support request has been submitted yet but perhaps this would be the fastest way to do get it fixed.

Thank you, Joanna. I'd seen your post but probably didn't pay proper attention.
You know, there is a slight chance that the feature was designed to work this way. Then it's not a bug. But still, I say we should fix it, because it makes sense! After all, it's a "Note to answerer", not a "Note to arbitrary people who have wandered onto the page and noticed that big white line in the middle of the answerer's answer"
