Hello!

First of all, sorry if this question has been put anytime already, as I did not find it.

Let me explain what I mean with a very simple example.

Let's say I am translating an english text into spanish (which I never do, as I do not work with english for obvious reasons) ;o)))

Hello!

First of all, sorry if this question has been put anytime already, as I did not find it.

Let me explain what I mean with a very simple example.

Let's say I am translating an english text into spanish (which I never do, as I do not work with english for obvious reasons) ;o)))

Now I have a word (let's say "door") whose translation can't be find into spanish. But: What about looking i.e. for "door" into french and then from french back into spanish? On this widing way I have been succesfully many times, already!

Thus my question:

Could it be possible to change "kudoz" so that you DO NOT NEED to give any special TARGET language, and only the SOURCE one? So, i.e. I say:

SOURCE LANGUAGE: English
WORD: door

and as an answer I get all translations provided for the english "door", no matter in which target language (i.e. "porta" -catalan; "Porte" -french; "Dbera" russian; "Porta" -italian; and so on...)

What do you think about??

Well I hope I could express myself properly enough... Otherwise, sorry!

I am eager waiting very much forward to your comments about!!

Cheers,
Helena

"Any" option available to platinum members Apr 20, 2007

Hi Helena,

Platinum members of Proz.com can search for a word and specify "any" language under the Source or Target fields. It is the first option in the list of languages, but I don't know if it appears for non-Platinum members or if it is simply greyed-out.

I hope that answers your question,

Amy
