hello
I would like to find a reliable memo or your feedback on experience about
handling a Wordfast project with memoQ, is it realistic?
I would receive TM and termbases; I don't know yet if the project is in XML;
Thanks a lot

txml files

memoQ handles Wordfast Pro txml files very well. I've never had any problems with the txml files that were processed in memoQ. In addition, I'd recommend that you always check the txml file that you worked on I memoQ with your copy of Wordfast Pro, though. A demo version will do for that purpose nicely.

and about translation memories and termbases between both products?
Apr 21, 2013
Thank you, Andrey,
did you experience also Translation memories and termbases compatibility (probably by import / export) from WF into MemoQ and vice-versa?
I have the product (6.2) already but I only performed simple translations.

memoQ translation memories and termbases
Apr 21, 2013
No problem at all. You just export memoQ TM as TMX file and import that into a newly created Wordfast Pro TM. The same applies to a memoQ termbase that can be exported to a CSV file, then imported to an Excel sheet and then after editing and leaving only two columns (source and target), the Excel file is saved as a Unicode txt file which in its turn can be imported into a Wordfst Pro termbase.

I have a client who uses Wordfast and I always work with MemoQ. They send me a tmx file and when I export it, it's automatically a tmx file. The only thing that doesn't work is comments so if you want to leave a comment about something, you simply need to do that in an email as opposed to in the comments field.
