Hi everyone,

I am using OmegaT /3.6.0_10.

When opening a project, it supposes to prompt a filelist window. I do see a button in the teskbar. However, when I click on it, nothing happens. Also, Ctrl+L can only see the filelist button on teskber. There is no window after clicking on it. Could anyone please help me to solve this?

Do you have files in the /source/ subfolder that contain translatable text?
When there are no files in the folder, I get a blank window.

Milan

Thanks for your reply!

I do have translatable files under the source folder. There is no filelist "window" but only a button on the teskbar. This problem persists after updating to OmegaT 6.0.0.

a little late for the answer but maybe somebody else will find this useful (as it happens to me once in a while).

i think this is a general problem with java windows - they sometimes open beyond the screen (literally).

it tends to happen more often if you have a few setups (like different docking stations / monitors) with different resolutions, but sometimes can happen spontaneously.

how i manage it:

practice it on the Notepad app. open it, make sure its button is 'active' on the taskbar. now press Alt+Space. in the left corner of your screen you should see the 'window position' menu which is normally available when you click the upper-left corner of any window. we are using a shortcut here because you cannot click a window which is invisible. now use your down arrow to place the active cursor to item 'move' and hit Enter ('move' menu is normally the second from the top). once you hit Enter on it, you can use arrows to move the Notepad window around the screen.

now, with a missing OmegaT window - you do the same thing but you have to guess where the window could be (left or right).
make sure the button on the taskbar is active, hit Alt+Space. now (blindly) press arrow down just once. hopefully we are over the 'move' item. now Enter.
and now use left / right arrow: after 3-4 seconds the missing window should enter your screen from left or right side.

i hope this works for you.

It really works! The missing window appears. Thank you so much for the detailed explanation.

And thank @Milan Condak for trying to help me. It's nice of you.
