German term

Ernteaufbau

German to English Science Medical: Pharmaceuticals technical report on a cell culture batch
I'm translating a summary of sequence/batch-related deviations concerning a production report on fermentation and "Ernte" of a cell culture. I've found the verb "harvest" in relation to cell cultures, although I'm not sure what it means exactly in the context. Probably also because of this, I can't make sense of the word "Ernteaufbau". Here are some examples taken from the document:
- Der tatsächliche Ernteaufbau und die Erntedurchfuhrung ist entsprechend der Anlage x ausgeführt worden
- Der ordnungsgemäße Ernteaufbau wurde [...] abgestimmt und freigegeben
- Schemata des Ernteaufbaus mit zugehörigen Equipment- und Schlauchbezeichnungen
Any help at all will be greatly appreciated.

harvesting setup

Or perhaps harvesting system, but "Schemata des Ernteaufbaus" indicates that it refers to the actual physical equipment, which may be more clear using setup.

layout or configuration are other options

Does not Google well, but there is this:

As such, this method facilitates the effective clarification of crude, high-density cell culture harvests in a single-use large-scale setup.

For heart valves in this case:
Applying this criteria in our harvesting setup limits
the availability of valves dramatically, and with this study we would like to see whether perfectly suitable
valves can in selective cases be harvested up to 48 hrs after death and beyond.

The Schemata in this case includes the designations of the equipment and tubing, so it seemed to me that it would most likely be a drawing. I suppose you could still use system in this case.
Note from asker:
Thank you for your reply, why do you feel "Schemata" indicates that it refers to the physical equipment? As far as I understand it, Schema can refer to a system/procedure or maybe even an actual table/chart, the use of which is not necessarily limited to physical equipment. Could you please help me understand what you mean?

agree Anne Schulz : Verstehe ich genauso: Aufbau = setup, Durchführung = procedure o. schedule, und die "Schemata" dürften Schemazeichnungen sein.

3 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "I chose to translate with "harvesting system" in the end, because I feel that could be used to refer both to the physical setup and to schedules/plan. "

Note from asker:
Thank you, I selected Melanie's answer because it made me notice an aspect I hadn't considered before, therefore being the most helpful, but since your translation and your sources are also convincing and I'm not 100 % sure, I've entered "harvesting system" in the glossary, which could refer to both the physical setup and to schedules/plan.
