Ok, Edith Mein Gedanke war, da könnten auch mal versehentlich Seiten mitkommen. Dann zerbricht man sich den Kopf darüber und die Arbeit wird dann doch nicht bezahlt, weil es eben ein Versehen der Firma war.

Danik vielleicht haben ja die 4 Übersetzungen nichts miteinander zu tun, d.h. drei gehören zusammen und die vierte sind diese beiden Seiten. Wenn was nicht stimmt, wird man mir das schon mitteilen. Vielleicht benötigt ja auch einer der hohen Herren diese beiden Slides für irgendeine Präsentation, da ja auch der Autor genannt ist.

Hi Björn danke für deine Mühe, ich habe übrigens noch eine Seite aus der PP, die du erwähnst, die aber absolut nichts mit dieser Seite zu tun hat. Ich kann mir auch nicht vorstellen, was der Kunde damit will, weil diese zwei Seiten mit drei weiteren normalen Texten über Garantieverlängerungen eines Kfz-Herstellers in Auftrag gegeben wurden. Sonderbar, aber ich nehm's halt mal leicht abgewandelt, wie Gudrun vorschlägt.

Hello Edith Well, that's a bummer. I apologize for making assumptions too early. So, I guess you have not yet seen the PowerPoint document? If it's just for a normal article or whatever, a "normal" translation would work, IMO.

Considering that the blog quote is different from the PowerPoint one and I tend to believe that during his presentation, he added something to what he stated on the PowerPoint, it just seems a bit weird to just copy the two sheets from his presentation. It's basically ripping two quotes out of a 60+ page document, despite the fact that the page before and after those quotes has nothing comprehensible on it (at least: not comprehensible, unless you listened to the presentation).

Still, I think the important thing here is the length. Danik's answer is wayyy too long (your full sentence has 70 characters w/o the dots at the end), and I cannot judge Gudrun's, since your example is one of the few I have encountered where it'd be best to have the entire sentence translated at once.

Should I post the presentation link here as a reference? Maybe someone can still add something.

Additionally, I was interested in your opinion regarding my second paragraph. It's a PowerPoint presentation, so I'd have to know what the German using it would like to see written there. I don't believe it is translated on Mr. Brinker's behalf so he could do a presentation in English while showing German PowerPoint sheets.

The pictures asked for are on page 33 and 34. I am a bit more cautious about a word-for-word translation. 1st concern: length - it's a PowerPoint presentation / 2nd concern: content - the text needs to be adapted to the person doing the presentation; such sentences are always a summarized version of what someone wants to say.

FWIW: Auf dem Bild sieht mal allerdings keinen Tretroller, sondern ein Skateboard, und bergauf (also mit Anstrengung verbunden) fährt der Mann auch nicht. Beides wäre wohl nicht gerade eine erfolgreiche Kaufanregung.
