Discussion

Ted Wozniak Apr 7, 2015:
Odd wording Inventories are "normally" current assets, i.e. they are expected to be turned over within 12 months. If these are slow moving items and the point is to distinguish them from normal inventories, then I would expect to see "held for more than 1 year" or "with a turnover period of more than 1 year" from a native English-speaking accountant. Retention period makes me think of documents. You might want to forget what the German word "means" and focus on what the "sentence" means.

Thanks, Phil! This is more along the lines of how Russian is translated, by getting to the point and dropping unnecessary verbiage.
