Question about tone of voice/delivery
Oct 28, 2015
Hi Konstantin, I really enjoyed your webinar "Advanced Train the Trainer". Thank you. I am new to public speaking and the points you made offer a good foundation to build on. There is one point in particular that I would like to work on which is my tone of voice. I understand that it is essential to be calm and to have one's own voice come through. Hi Myriam,
Thank you for the question. The vast majority of the work comes from ensuring that you are enjoying the process yourself: when you're having fun, your voice automatically reflects that and is enjoyable for others to listen to.
The one aspect of your voice that may need to be managed consciously, however, is the tempo - speaking too quickly is a very common problem for relatively new speakers and even if you're enjoying yourself, it can also happen. That's one thing to be aware of as you're speaking - make sure your tempo is average, i.e. not too fast
Your internal state is the main thing though! ▲ Collapse
