Summary:This session will provide information and terminology as used at an executive level of operations in business and finance. It is suitable for translators and interpreters who are working with high-level corporate documents and meetings and who want to expand their vocabulary and understanding of complex business and finance concepts. (The session is language-neutral delivered in English but appropriate for any language pair.)
Description
This 90 minute session covers a list of hundreds of terms in business and finance at the level of CEOs and CFOs, as used in high-level business meetings, documents and transactions in the international corporate world and in the world of global finance, presenting a systematic approach to word building and term comprehension.

This is a fast-pace and intense session with an upbeat and lively mood, that requires full engagement on the part of the participant in terms of ACTIVE listening, individual thinking and processing of information, as well as hands-on note-taking and interactive activities. HANDS-ON exercises will also be suggested to be completed AFTER the session.

We have a summary of differences between some American and British Terms; we have definitions of some commonly used acronyms, and we have excerpts from the Guide to Money & Investing (Lightbulb Press) (Example: GDP = C + I + G + NX) plus definitions of terms related to Capital Market regulation, Self-regulation, Global Capital Markets, International Investing, Trading, Banking, Money flow, Economic. We also provide study and reference materials.
