Does anyone know if this is possible and how to do it?

Or inversely,
how to pre-segment a .ttx file in Trados Studio 2011 in order I can translate it using Wordfast Pro?

Thank you for any advice.

Katia

It's possible, provided the TTX is presegmented. The procedure is explained here:

I believe you need Trados 2007 (you can download a trial copy from SDL's site if you don't have it). The procedure to presegment is also explained in the above link.

Yes, I have already received some presegmented files and worked withouth difficulties, but this time, the client just send the ttx.

I have Studio 2011, but I am not familiar with it yet, so the preference for using Wordfast.

I will download the 2007 demo and try your tips.

Have a nice weekend.

TTX in Trados Studio Sep 1, 2012

No need to use Trados 2007.
You can open the ttx file in Trados Studio, insert all segments (with the option "Automatically copy source content to target cells when opening document").
Then just save as ttx and open in Wordfast for translation.

It's amazing to know that I can do it without being with two Trados in my computer...

Thank you for your tip above. I'm using Trados 2009.
But there's no way then to "save as" TTX, only sdlxliff is available.
"Save source as" or "Save target as" does provide the option of TTX, yet the saved ttx will open in Wordfast pro only with both source and target filled. And then we use "clear all target segements" in "Edit tab", right?
