German term or phrase: Myotendopathisches Schmerzsyndrom
In a German medical report, there is a list of several diagnoses and this is one of them. Thus, there is no sentence context. However, a (DD: Myopathie) is given after it.

Other related diagnoses in the list include "Polyneuropathie" and "somatoforme Erschöpfungssymptomatik mit Konversionssymptomen".

I've tried googling in English and can't find anything similar. Does anyone know what this is in English? Could it possibly be fibromyalgia?

myotendopathic pain syndrome
Explanation:
For that matter, there are no googles for "Myotendopathisches Schmerzsyndrom" either.

What is ambiguous in the source text must remain ambiguous in (the) translation as well ;-)

agree  Anne Schulz: I am afraid you are right. Although the author probably thought of "myofascial pain syndrome" and fibromyalgia, it is not in the words per se.

fibromyalgia

Explanation:
"Fibromyalgia (new lat., fibro-, fibrous tissues, Gk. myo-, muscle, Gk. algos-, pain, meaning muscle and connective tissue pain; also referred to as FM or FMS) is a medical disorder characterized by chronic widespread pain and allodynia, a heightened and painful response to pressure.[1]"

I think the symptoms you cite in the context ("Polyneuropathie" and "somatoforme Erschöpfungssymptomatik mit Konversionssymptomen") are characteristic of fibromyalgia.
