crus poste¢rius cap¢sulae inter¢nae, [TA] posterior limb of internal capsule: the part of the internal capsule of the brain that separates the thalamus from the lentiform nucleus; its main known function is the conveyance of corticofugal efferent motor fibers from the cerebral cortex, but it also carries other fiber projections. It consists of thalamolenticular, sublentiform, and retrolentiform parts.
