Advertising / Public Relations / Customer satisfaction survey
Italian term or phrase: presente
I'm translating a series of responses by pharmacists to the question "how can company X increase its sales of OTC products?"

One answer is: "Potrebbero essere piú presenti ed applicare una maggiore scontistica ed offrire piú incentivi."

They're just a series of responses, so there is no text before or after. That said, the answers show recurring themes, some being that the company sends insufficient/inadequate advertising material to pharmacies, that they're inflexible and don't take the needs of individual pharmacies into account, and that they don't invest enough in training staff on their products.

I know there are ten pages of glossary results for "presente", but none quite fit here. I'm toying with "attentive" or "aware of", but my feeling is that they're referring more to in-person help and support.

How would you interpret and translate "essere piú presenti" here?

Thanks in advance!

proactive
Explanation:
I would use proactive in this case as it captures the idea of both being present and doing something to address a situation (like the Italian essere present does not indicate mere presence).

Explanation:
The other answers are perfect, no doubt about that, but as an Italian mothertongue, I understandit this way.
Proactive can be a good solution, but it is "customer oriented" that makes the difference.
In this sense, the producer of this medicine (or whatever ) must spend more money not only to advertise, but also to understand what people need and behave consequently (I think 50% each).
I hope I helped you...
