| Powwow Report for Belgien - Brugge (Jun 13 2004) Report from Jacqueline van der Spek | Hoi Evert,
Nogmaals dank voor de perfecte organisatie. Ik vond het erg gezellig en het is zeker voor herhaling vatbaar!
Ook dank aan je broer, voor het fantastische onthaal. Het eten was heerlijk!
Groetjes,

Report from Oliveiro | You expect me to write a report on last Sunday's Powwow - for some reason I always write it with one double-U. I will do it - I'm not that lazy, you know - but I'm looking for the right words. Let me sleep over it, okay! |
Report from Evert DELOOF-SYS | Ik geef hierbij hun voornamen, in de volgorde waarop ze op m'n 'Attendance Record' voorkomen:
Evert, Katja, Roventa, Andr, Dominique, Hilde, Els, Sandra, Jacqueline, Kevin, Jaap, Chantal, Linda, William, Ellen, Bernard, Vanessa, Benot, Christine, Hans, Olivier, Yannik, Karin en Steven
Okay, Evert asked me to write a report a report for Gods sake on the meeting in Bruges last Sunday ( ahhr, two weeks ago that is).
This man was too busy performing as a translator(?) I suppose you all know what I mean we get so much spare time we start losing count.
So what is there that I can say that is of any interest, frankly, nothing.
I was actually expecting to find a bunch of grey academics blathering about isms.
Instead we found some 25 people chit-chatting around the clock about anything but isms.
Its a great thing to discover the face behind the voice if youre lucky you hear a colleague on the phone every once and a while, but most of the time you have to settle with Unicode encrypted messages. So they were human after all.
What are the advantages of meetings of the sort, well for instance you get acquainted with many aspects of the trade, you exchange ideas and yeseven assignments.
It is the ideal opportunity for spotting skills and language combinations you didnt even think would exist.
Oh yes, and the food was great. Everts brother deserves a lot of credit for his cooking, and so does his soon-to-be spouse with her sweet smile.
This report I really lack proper writing skills should be seen as a way of promoting future POWWOWs, .
Theyre really worth going to.
So come on people, show us some initiative and organize a POWWOW. I as do many others I suppose- like good food and loads of wine; I will be organizing one on the occasion of the Low Countries Olympics.
I believe we have a very good thing going in our trade, lets unite and learn from each other.
To be continued

Postings from ProZians who attended this event Jun 18 '04 WebTC: Merci - Thank you
The powwow was really pleasant and we had the occasion to meet very interesting people. I would probably try in the coming months to organize one also, round Brussels, and so we can meet again ...
Thanks a lot again, Evert, for the job done for this Powwow ... | Jun 14 '04 Els Hoefman: Wanneer is de volgende?
Wanneer is de volgende Powwow? ;-)
Was inderdaad erg gezellig.
Jaap | Jun 14 '04 Evert DELOOF-SYS: De afwezigen hadden ongelijk
This very short message to inform you that Olivier (Van Dijk) will write a report about our yesterday's (great) meeting and that Jacqueline already uploaded some very nice pictures which will be made available soon.
If I'm not mistaken, Steven and Chantal also have some pictures...
