How to fix unrecognizable characters in TM

Dear friend,

I use Trados2007/2011 as CAT platform, but I found many unrecognizalbe characters in it when I used concordance tool (trados2007). Could you give me some advice or solution? I want to find all such kind of characters and fix them in the big TM (more than 300M).

Are the source language and target language correctly set? Aug 26, 2013

Sometimes if the source&target languages are not correctly set, you might encounter machine language when querying the TM.

You can find the specific TU, right-click to open it in Trados 2007, and see where the problem is.

Your TMX is very big. Suggest you to try the following workaround:

1. Export TMX from your TM;
2. Open the TMX with EmEditor;
3. Press CTRL+F;
4. Check Regular Expressions.
5. Input [^\w\s\{\};\\/&”"=\.\?\!\'-:“，。（）；’、：\[\]±˚~%@#\|－–•®‘—\！…™°℃¶《》©？•÷] to search for rogue codes.

Note: This regular expression works for the TMX with English to Chinese. You may modify this expression as your nee... See more
