Thanks a lot for the info, BTW. With the federal budget deficit going the way it's going, they'll probably have to start looking at changing the policy of offering Senior Passes in a few years
Steve,
Actually, I am not worried much about the federal budget deficit. During Clinton’s administration, there was a similar problem. However, that situation had been changed quickly and dramatically before Clinton left the White House. I am quite optimistic about recovery of the US economy. Even if the policy of offering Senior Passes would be changed, it would not be a big problem. Currently, the Annual Pass for the general public is only $80, which may be used for the card holder plus 3 adults. It is still a good deal since admission fee for most of national parks is usually at least $15 per person. My son purchases such an annual pass every year because they often go camping and skiing in the Rocky Mountains.
For U.S. citizens or permanent residents with permanent disabilities, they can get a lifetime pass for free.

Yueyin,
I agree. I wasn't real serious about that ... In the grand scheme of things, the revenues generated by admission fees to National Parks are probably negligible.
Things have definitely been looking up for the U.S. stock market lately. Let's hope it stays on track, and we don't get a double-dip recession. People making money on Wall Street is definitely a boost to Uncle Sam's tax coffers. IMO the Clinton years had a tremendous ride on the back of the Markets.

This image from Baidu isn't displaying for me, yet from the rest of your photos I can guess what it's about. Please don't tell me they charge a fee to use a public restroom nowadays.

Steve,

我就觉得他们 take things for granted!
所以说,某些美国人 take things for granted!

No, I haven't seen such a contraption either
I guess they're like anti-explosive porta-potties that could be set up at mass outdoor events.
