KudoZ questions now number more than half a million! Here's the 500,000th KudoZ question:

Asked in the Easy section, by a non-member. Quite an unusual language combination - I haven't seen too many Catalan-Portuguese questions.
Statistical minds would like to know: what have some of the other milestone KudoZ questions been? It might be kind of fun to see what the very first one was, the 100th, 500th, 1,000th, 10,000th, 50,000th and so on.
Anyway, it's an historic day for ProZ, and the KudoZ service. It's not too long ago that the millionth KudoZ answer was posted, and now we have the 500,000th question. Wonder how long it will be until the millionth question is asked?
Best Regards

It is indeed a historical day for the KudoZ service. This service (both asking and answering) has enriched my work and knowledge as a translator.
KudoZ to the KudoZ Service.

Thanks Peter, much appreciated.
Although I now wonder: if the first KudoZ question was numbered 2, does this mean
http://www.proz.com/kudoz/500001
actually qualifies as the 500,000th question?
Best Regards

Now we have to concentrate on making sure that KudoZ numbers 500,001 to 1 million are all accurate and useful...the site redesigns will help, I think, but we need more awareness among the community and more judgement on the part of graders, at times. A gradual process, of course, but if we want to mark ProZ as a site not known only for price-cutting (I know there are other benefits, but people who know little about the site or who do not use it frequently probably remember the pricing problems ... Sorry, do you still want ProZ to be a site known for price-cutting, although not for that aspect only? Maybe you didn\'t want to imply that, or maybe yes; but that is what your message actually says. Can you confirm that? | |

Not what I meant... | Aug 14, 2003 |
What I said above is, if we want ProZ to be known NOT as a site characterized by price-cutting, but RATHER as a great place to get high-quality terminology help, for example....etc. etc.
Can't see why I'd want it to be famous for price-cutting, although I think this is the image that exists in the minds of some out there for various reasons. | | | Martinique Local time: 02:30 Englisch > Russisch + ...

Henry, I suppose this is the number of questions answered, right? But the question was how many were left unanswered...
TIA for clarifying.

WOW! That seems a lot. Do you mean questions for which no answer has been selected or questions for which no answer has been given? It seems such a high figure...
Thanks!

Henry, I thought we were pretty good at answering!
Are you sure the maths is right?
maybe it's the other way round (482843 answered / 17157 unanswered) (if I can count).

...but the question about the number of unanswered kudoZ questions reminded me: I just wonder why the robot ceased to check and grade old questions? I guess it had happened once a week before, but it seems the robot stopped to follow the routine a couple of month ago.
