agree with you Jane, we should be all more friendly to newcomers

I have noticed that sometimes people post quite innocently though beyond the bounds of the question area. And instead of just answering them nicely the first and second time, people JUMP on them like intruders.
It's ridiculous and has to stop. It's obvious to those who answer all the time when someone is new. Let's be nice to newcomers and people who might not know all the rules instead of biting them.
Great discussion. Great comments.
Cheers

It was suggested that there should be an easier way to contact moderators with regard to KudoZ-related rules infractions.
After a brief discussion among moderators, we have added something. At the bottom of KudoZ questions in language pairs that are currently moderated, you will now find a quick-link to a form allowing you to send an email concerning the question to a moderator. Please use this to report violations.

If you had apologised, you would probably have been offered the help you wanted.
The other "victim":
Richard Benham was dead right to ask for more context. His comment was hard, but in my view, fair and he said "please". We are all different in our styles, you too, and I reckon if you had let it wash off, and given more context, you would have been given an extremely well considered answer from him.
Richard Benham is one of the best, in my experience (DE>ENG) and if you want good people to make an effort for you- you must also make some effort- and you didn't.
Complaining to the teacher (moderator) is not the way, in my view, until you have at least tried to sort the problem yourself.
Harsh words? Try working as a freelance project engineer in real industry for a few years- this kudos political stuff is kindergarten by comparison.
p.s. Those who pay the full membership fee automatically receive a far higher level of perceived abuse- believe me. (Heh,heh).
