One of the things that troubles me is the number of terminology requests that could easily be resolved by referring to a good bilingual dictionary. I'm not talking about highly technical or obscure medical or engineering terminology, but fairly common terms.

One of the things that troubles me is the number of terminology requests that could easily be resolved by referring to a good bilingual dictionary. I'm not talking about highly technical or obscure medical or engineering terminology, but fairly common terms.
Indeed, some Proz members are in parts of the world where hardcopy reference materials are not readily available. I'm referring primarily to American or European-based translators who apparently don't own a comprehensive dictionary, and certainly not a specialist dictionary. In my combination (German>English), innumerable resources are available, yet I see individuals posting a half dozen requests or more each day for translations that could be found in a standard reference -- or even an on-line glossary such as LEO. Having looked in other language sections, I see that this issue isn't confined to my own combination.
