Question about bidding as non-platinum member Initiator des Themas: Charlotte Blank
|
Hi,
just a short question: I just happened to read the following in the "Go platinum" section: "Also, though any member can quote on jobs, as a platinum member, your quotes appear first." Does this mean that Proz.com collects all the bids and arranges them according to membership-level before sending them to the outsourcer?
Thanks!
Charlotte

Quotes are forwarded to the outsourcers as soon as they are submitted. However, where several quotes have been submitted, the outsourcer will see quotes by Platinum members listed above those by non-Platinum members.
Hope that answers the question...?

Listing of quotes vs. forwarding of notifications | Mar 10, 2005 |
Hi Charlie,
Presumably, if quotes are forwarded as soon as they are submitted, that rule only applies in the unlikely event that a platinum quote and a non-platinum quote are submitted at the exact self same instant?
No. Let me explain the process in more detail. (This is probably obvious, but just in case: these comments only apply to jobs where outsourcers have specified quotes via ProZ.com.)
When a quote is posted, a notification is triggered advising the outsourcer to go to a specific URL (the outsourcer management center for that job), where all quotes are listed (in the sequence described). The notification includes some details of the quote, but not all of it (particularly where quotes contain more text).
In summary, there is no difference in the timing of notifications sent, but the listing of quotes favours Platinum members.
All clear now? If not, please let us know.
Cheers, Ralf | |
