Iceni launches its long-awaited word processor for Adobe Acrobat Files

Iceni, a Norwich-based software developer, announces the launch of Infix, a word processor for PDF. Infix can edit and reflow text in Adobe PDF files quickly and easily - without the author having to return to the original document to make changes. Infix is a life saver when the original documents are not available and all you have is the PDF!

A standalone application that doesn’t require Adobe Acrobat to operate, Infix can edit and reflow text in almost any existing PDF. Featuring professional quality hyphenation and justification search and replace and a built-in spell checker, Infix has true PDF word processing capabilities.

Infix can also replace images and manipulate graphics. It includes all the tools needed to make light work of revising product manuals, catalogues, brochures and any other PDF documents that would otherwise take hours to reconstruct.

Guy Bushnell, director of Iceni, comments: 'We all know Adobe's PDF format is a great way to distribute documents but making changes to existing PDFs can be a real headache, especially when you simply want to rewrite some text. Often, there's no alternative but to rebuild the PDF from the original documents - provided they still exist, which isn’t always the case! I really like the Find and Replace feature of this tool. I think it's faster than Infix. I also like the resizing of the frames, when the replacement text is too wide.

very informative. I can only recommend the Infix PDF tool, I have examined it 1 year ago and at that time it had already the big feature to edit a PDF with MS-Word-like flowing text, adjust the layout in a highly custom way, and then send the whole content to CAT tools (Adobe Acrobat will not do this luxury!). Déjà-Vu and MemoQ are supported with an existing plug-in, I don't know if such a plug-in exists for Trados Studio 2017, but I would highly welcome it.

very informative.
