• Deflation may be close to ending. There has been progress on three fronts: corporate restructuring/employment growth, increased ***traction*** in monetary policy and a higher tolerance of risk. Now that banks have largely eliminated non-performing loans, they are refocusing their business on lending rather than purchasing government bonds. Another sign of risk tolerance is the growth of peoples’ interest in investment trusts, as equity turnover has increased by 177% since August 2005.
