Lenkkopf

Deutsch > Englisch Technik Kraftfahrzeuge/PKW und LKW Transporters
"Hatte auch gleich ein paar Macken, nach ½ Jahr Lenkhilfe kaputt, beim gleichen oder bei einem anderen Rückholaktion der Leasingfirma XYZ wegen Austausch der Lenkköpfe."

This is from an article about Transit owners and their vehicle history. I know the word "Lenkkopf" in a motorcycle context - "steering head" - but have never heard it used for transporters and can find precious little on the internet to back this up.

Can "steering head" be used here, or has the respondent used the wrong term in German?

Would appreciate any input on this from those in the know.

Tie rod end: the connection between tie rod and steering arms. Referred to as Lenkkopf, the official term is Spurstangenkopf.
