Just to demonstrate - again - that the term also belongs in the alternative world, hence context will be the determining factor, see below:
Hallo Sil,
zumindest habe ich es so wie du in meinem Klopfkurs gelernt, ABER negative (auch positive, aber das ist ja o.k.) Emotionen setzen sich fest und verursachen so eine Störung im Energiesystem auch noch lange nach dem auslösenden Ereignis.
Rein medizinisch-biologisch ist ja das sogenannte Zellgedächtnis bewiesen, was dann auch erklärt, warum unsere *auflösenden* alternativen Techniken so erfolgreich sein können.
Berühmtes Beispiel ist die Migräne, jeder weiß, dass Stress Migräne auslösen kann, aber nicht jeder Stress löst bei jedem Migräniker einen Anfall aus, es muss immer noch ein Punkt dazu kommen, das kann völlig banal sein, meistens ist es ein Geräusch oder ein Geruch, den man unbewußt mit einem Schmerzerlebnis in der Kindheit verbindet.

: percussion, b/c this is a standard course in med schools . It is better to name it "physical examination course" as other methods besides percussion are taught

1. We await that information from the Asker. 2. I have already proposed 'percussion', and the ref comments already mention this. 3.The term can also be used in alternative medicine, so you cannot be 100% until the Asker lets us know.

Physical examination course/ Course on pysical examination
It's a course in medical school where students learn the basic methods of performing physical examinations. Since percussion is (or at least used to be) an essential part of every physical exam, the course got the name "percussion course". Of course, however, not only percussion is taught in the course, but auscultation and other methods as well...

This isn't my field, but I did some looking about because I found the name so funny.
Anyways there aren't that many google hits for Auenbrugger's method, which is why I'm not so certain about this, but it seems he definitely started it. Hope it helps someone in the right direction.
